Geiger International adds four auxiliary products to its successful Caucus table line to introduce a complete Caucus conferencing suite at the NeoCon World's Trade Fair in Chicago, June 9-11, 2008.
In addition to plinth and leg tables, the Caucus suite includes a media wall, credenza, lectern, and cart. Like the tables on which they're based, the Caucus companion pieces were conceived as a system of built-up, lightweight components. "Each part depends on the others to create an overall visual expression. Our intent was to design a flexible system that can evolve and stand up to the ever-changing landscape of user needs," says designer Robert Allen, creator of Geiger's Tablet casegoods and Caucus tables.
"The challenge we gave ourselves was one of real purpose," says Mike Milligan, Geiger's Director of Product Development. "We asked, how can each Caucus piece better support the ways modern business is conducted? In other words, how can a media wall be more than a frame for a plasma television? How can a lectern transcend the ordinary?"
Robert Allen adds, "We wanted to offer an architecture that is less about end products than about their integral links to business processes and how we can provide tools to support these processes."
Caucus Media Wall
The Caucus Media Wall offers an elegant and functional frame with housing for a flat-panel television, ranging in size from less than 32 inches up to 52 inches. Three configurations are offered: wall panels with sliding doors, wall panels without doors, and mitered box frame only.
In addition, the wall panels and sliding doors can be specified as markerboard surfaces, and the inner case can be finished in paint, providing a contrasting frame of color around the monitor. Doors can be specified with a metal pull (two designs are initially offered) or no pull.
Caucus Credenza
Available in three heights, two depths, and three widths, the Caucus Credenza offers options for any room's function. The modular Credenza can be configured with a combination of open cubbies, drawers, shelves, CPU cabinet, and waste bin. The low-top excels in lounge areas; medium-top works in conjunction with a media wall or where hospitality requirements are limited but storage is required; and high-top supports food service needs.
Caucus Credenza tops also offer three options: uniform top, perpendicular end panels only, and perpendicular end panels with insert panels, to mirror the Caucus plinth table aesthetic. As with the media wall, drawers and doors can be equipped with or without a metal pull.
Caucus Lectern
The Caucus Lectern changes shape as presentation needs change. Available in standing-height and seated-height versions, the Lectern incorporates a wood-topped acrylic section that easily lifts off the wood base for use directly on a table surface. The acrylic section's built-in shelf glides out to support even the largest laptop computer, or slides back into place when not needed. Like Caucus tables, the Lectern includes built-in cord management and connectivity support, with options for power, data, voice, video, and even USB.
