Brandrud Furniture, Inc., is bringing a universal design view to healthcare seating environments, including waiting rooms and lounges, with Andante Multiple Seating. Andante addresses the general seating needs of facilities while seamlessly meeting the requirements of the bariatric population.
The company will display Andante Multiple Seating in its 11th floor showroom at Chicago's Merchandise Mart during the NeoCon World's Trade Fair, June 9-11, 2008.
Co-President of Brandrud Lee Falck notes, "Our research clearly indicates the need to address what we call 'integrated bariatrics.' We focused on not singling out a bariatric seat option--emotionally it doesn't call attention to an obese or overweight person. We integrate the needs of bariatric-rated seating into the entire system, making the product interchangeable. This greatly simplifies the specification process and removes the need for 'special seating.'"
Utilizing an engineered steel truss and industrial finger joints, Andante provides the structural capacity necessary for greater weight bearing capacity, in a seamless fashion.
"Andante Multiple Seating represents Brandrud's acuity for recognizing the challenges healthcare facilities encounter in all areas of the patient experience," adds Kent Gawart, Vice President of Marketing and Project Services, Herman Miller for Healthcare. "It is another example of Brandrud's leadership in this market."
The system includes an enhanced range of seat widths and multiple seating styles. It is available in 19-, 23-, 30-, and 40-inch seat widths and suspended or non-suspended configurations.
Andante Multiple Seating is an addition to the Andante portfolio that includes side, stacking, patient, and bariatric seating. It carries Brandrud's limited lifetime warranty and may be ordered from Brandrud or a Herman Miller for Healthcare representative.
