Herman Miller, Inc., will return as a sponsor and presenter to the 11th annual League for Innovation in the Community College Innovations 2008 conference in Denver, Colorado, March 2-5, 2008. Hosted by the Community College of Denver, Innovations 2008 will include thought-provoking programs, leaders, and trendsetters in the community college field.

During the four-day conference, Lori Gee and Jeff Vredevoogd of Herman Miller's Education Solutions team will share their knowledge about learning spaces in several presentations, including: "Asking the Right Questions to Improve Learning Spaces," "Building and Remodeling Space into Powerful Learning Environments," and "Transforming the Typical Classroom Setting for Engaged Learning."

"Possibilities in learning spaces result from careful consideration to the people who will use the space, what forms of pedagogy will be taking place--now and in the future--and how place plays into the equation," notes Vredevoogd. "Our focus at this year's conference is to communicate the challenges and rewards higher education leaders experience as they work through these steps to create effective learning spaces for faculty and students."

Vredevoogd and Gee specifically will note their findings from the company's learning studio pilot with Eastfield College in Mesquite, Texas, which has committed to creating the ultimate learning environment.

Adds Vredevoogd: "Any space on campus can be transformed into a learning space. We want to share our research-based approach with others to make this a reality on every campus."

Innovations 2008 is an opportunity for community college professionals and colleagues from around the world to showcase their model programs, to share lessons learned, and to look to the future by experiencing a wide array of learning opportunities.
